Hi, everyone! In this article, I write some reviews of 5 website about food and travel. Here I go.
- Will Fly for Food (https://www.willflyforfood.net/)
Will Fly for Food is a website containing blogs about travel, adventure, and food written by JB & Renèe. They are a married couple where Ren used to work as a travel agent in Beverly Hills and JB is still studying at the Academy of Art University. After getting married they now often go traveling and adventuring as well as eating a lot of food when traveling. JB & Renèe have visited many countries and blog about food and travel on their website.
The appearance of the Will Fly for Food website is fairly easy to use because it uses a large enough font with clear and clear pictures. This website uses jargon that attracts readers with a crab background that looks appetizing. Below they briefly explain the contents of this website, comprehensive travel and food guides to help you plan your trip and eat like a local, which can be clearly seen that the website is informative in nature. This website also has several channels or sponsors who join with lots of advertisements that are not too distracting when readers read this website.
Will Fly for Food has several menus, such as latest, food + travel, destinations, about and contact with several submenus in each menu. In their articles, they write down every information in detail and easy to find. For example, in the restaurant section, they provide the full address, which vehicle is better to use to get there, opening hours, food recommendations, and don't forget to write down the price. Will Fly for Food also uses attractive and clear photos so that it can make readers want to go there.
On the contact menu, readers can contact JB & Renèe using email. However, this section places more emphasis on readers or anyone who wants to work with the Will Fly for Food website. As for comments, they can be pinned directly under the article you are reading. JB and Renèe are also seen responding to some of the existing comments so that this can make readers feel free to ask questions and interact with this website.
- The Travel Bite (https://thetravelbite.com/)
The Travel Bite is a food and travel blog written by Rachelle and Pete. They have a goal of Our goal is to whet readers' appetites with globally inspired recipes and help plan culinary vacations.
The appearance of the website uses clear fonts and clear images along with good arrangement of blog pages that make this website comfortable and easy to read. In my opinion, The Travel Bite has a circle logo that resembles a food with a bite on the side. But it can also be seen like the sun, because it has an orange color, which sinks in the open sea (the waves are like waves on the high seas). So this logo is very well made because it can have two meanings that can represent food and travel very well.
In the menu section, readers can see the home, about, recipes, travel destinations, travel tips, contact, and work from home menus. On the about menu, readers can read everything about this website starting from the author, why they chose the name of this website, etc. This section is written in a very complete and detailed manner so that readers can see how the steps for this website were created. On the recipes menu, there are many recipes separated by type, such as appetizers + side dishes, main dishes + dinner, desserts, drinks and pantry staples. This grouping is well made so that articles or recipes are not piled up without grouping so they are not good to see.
The Travel Bite also has a lot of social media so that readers can see information there besides on the website. On the work from home menu, there are various tips on how to work from home, create a comfortable workspace, etc. This website is truly multifunctional by providing a variety of information to tips that can help travelers who may have the desire to create a website too.
The articles on The Travel Bite website are written in full with interesting details that are not left behind. Inside there are recommendations for tourist attractions accompanied by addresses. Also written on the website of the place. Unfortunately, in many articles, it is not stated how much money is needed or spent for the place reviewed.
- Food Fun Travel (https://foodfuntravel.com/)
Food Fun Travel is a food and travel blog written by Tommo and Megsy, food and travel photographers, podcasters & writers. They have visited more than 95 countries to travel and taste food in various countries.
Food Fun Travel has a white, green, and orange display plus black in the font. The front view of this website is well made with Tommo and Meggy's photo as an image with a welcome message on their website. Here you can also see how an attractive front page is divided, filled with interesting headlines, clear images, and cool videos. It can be seen that there are also their sponsors/partners so it can be seen that this website does not only provide information but also offers tour and travel services, especially in Georgia (a country).
There are several menus in Food Fun Travel, such as about, destinations, tours, podcasts, shops, blogs and subscribe accompanied by several submenus. In my opinion, this podcast is very good because readers who prefer to listen to stories rather than read can listen through this menu. The contact section is also made a submenu on the about menu which is a good strategy because the existing menu doesn't look too much. Unfortunately, authors can only be contacted via Email, so readers have a lack of a platform to contact authors.
The articles on the Food Fun Travel website are well written. Each article is written with an interesting headline and complete information. There are recommendations for places, food, addresses, vehicles used and of course, prices. However, some articles look confusing with little text and other colored subtitles (have link = not black). This arrangement confuses the reader who wants to read an article. But there is an option /search/ if a reader who already has a destination wants to see an article for that destination. But for readers who haven't decided on a destination, they might be a little confused to read some of the information in the desired article.
- Our Awesome Planet ((https://awesome.blog/)
Our Awesome Planet is a lifestyle blog that documents food and travel for a family, namely the family of writers, Anton and Rache. This website has written various food and travel articles with destinations ranging from the Philippines, Southeast Asia and around the world.
Our Awesome Planet has an initial appearance with its logo, namely the words Awesome with a small image like a rising/setting sun in the upper right corner of the letter 'o'. The logo has a video recap background from the past year to the next which contains a podcast with an image of a lake/river surrounded by trees and hills. This image represents this website which contains information about food and travel.
In the menu, there are menus home, about, topic, browse and contact. On the topic menu there is a submenu consisting of restaurants, hotels, travel, and Philippines. Articles that contain information are on the topic menu with divided submenus to make it easier for readers to find them. There is also a browse menu for readers who want to find articles about the destination they want. On the contact menu, there are two ways to contact the author. To the partners, they need to fill out the form in the contact view. Meanwhile, if it concerns or the like, readers should use Anton's email. This may make it easier for the author so that all emails can be received regularly, and messages can be read and replied to all so that readers feel satisfied.
The articles on the Our Awesome Planet website are really written in complete and detailed, such as the destination address, email, telephone number, Instagram, link, even the destination website. These details can be very helpful for readers when they want to go to that destination. In addition, the pictures taken also have a clear and pleasing quality when viewed from the arrangement.
- Taste Away (https://www.tasteaway.pl/en/)
Taste Away is a food and travel website written by Natalia. In it, there is information about tourist destinations and also foods that exist in the world.
Taste Away has a plain white look with neat fonts. However, this website doesn't have a logo and the plain background might discourage readers. The photos on the front page have clear quality but have a less tidy arrangement. However, the headlines that appear are very likely to make the reader click on the article because the headlines are very interesting.
On the menu, there are several menus, such as travel, Poland, food, kids, in my opinion, guide, 10 ways for…, and eBooks. There are several submenus on the travel, Polish, food and kids menu. The kids menu itself is the author's stories about his children. But in it there are tips for readers who want to travel with children. This information is very interesting and useful because usually these tips are discussed separately in other articles. The existence of an eBook on Taste Away is also a unique thing compared to other blogs.
The articles on the Taste Away website are well written. The author uses language that is fun and easy to understand so that readers feel like continuing to read it. However, the author does not include details such as full address, time to reach destination, or price. Often the author only tells the name, the place that is close to the destination, or how long it takes to reach the destination. Some photos do show food prices in an article, but many other foods or destinations don't have them. The photos in the article are of good quality and the arrangement is much better and neater than the ones on the home menu.
